Kenny Jackett has revealed that he has been tracking Tottenham midfielder Johnnie Jackson all summer and even attempted to sign him on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day. However, Jackson opted to remain in London and is expected to join Championship outfit Millwall in the next 48 hours.
Like fellow Londoner Darren Pratley, Jackson decided that he wanted to stay closer to home this season, as opposed to the long-haul down the M4 to the White Rock. ''He is someone who can play anywhere down the left-hand side of the pitch and is a player I like", Jackett told the Evening Post, "...but as with Darren Pratley, he has chosen to stay in London".
