It appears that Swansea may have completed their first signing of the summer, after Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson claimed that Bristol City's Marc Goodfellow has decided to join the South Wales club. The flying winger had held talks with Carlisle, yet has apparently opted to sign for Kenny Jackett's newly promoted Swansea side...although the club have not yet confirmed the deal.
Goodfellow spent an impressive month on loan at Swansea over the Christmas period, scoring goals against Oxford, Kidderminster and against Stockport in the FA Cup. Bristol City turned down a £25k bid from Swansea in January, before "Freezer" moved on loan to Colchester United for the remainder of the season. However, it now appears that Bristol City have lowered their valuation of the pacy winger and the Swans may finally have got their man.
If a deal has been done, it is likely that either Swansea or Bristol City will make an official announcement in the next few hours or tomorrow morning.
