Welsh Premier League side Carmarthen Town are hoping to stage their UEFA Cup tie against Danish side FC Copenhagen at Swansea's "New Stadium" on August 11th. The club's Richmond Park home ground is currently without a UEFA licence and Carmarthen are hoping that Swansea's venue could help them attract around 4,000 supporters for a momentous night in the club's history.
Carmarthen over-turned Irish side Longford 5-1 at Newtown's ground in midweek, winning the first UEFA Cup tie in their history and are hoping that the much-publicised result may help attract more local supporters to the first leg of the two-legged affair. There is no issue with fixture congestion at the White Rock, as Swansea are away the following Saturday to League One Huddersfield.
