Swansea City are waiting on the fitness of trialist Kemy Agustien who they intend to sign on a permanent basis. The 23-year-old former Dutch Under-21 international limped off towards the end of Saturday's 1-0 friendly defeat to ADO Den Haag with a knee injury.

"He is one we are looking to bring in," said boss Brendan Rodgers. "The chairman and the agent had talks and we are hoping to conclude a deal on that.

"Nothing that happened with the injury is likely to change our thinking."

Agustien spent last week on trial with the Swans who were on their three-match tour of Holland as part of their preparations for the new season which starts at Hull City on Saturday.

He has spent time on loan at Birmingham and RKC Waalwijk in the last two seasons and is looking for a club after his release by AZ Alkmaar.

Rodgers has yet to make his first signing since being appointed as the Swans new manager last month, but it appears that Agustien could be his first.

"The injury is disappointing because he was due to come off minutes later," added Rodgers.

"He's just tweaked the inside of his knee, but we will have to wait to see the results of the scan before confirming anything.

"I hope it's not too serious because, as I said, he can be an asset to us when he's fit.

"He's really enjoyed his week with us, which is fantastic. We've got a great bunch of players here who have welcomed him into the group and I know how disappointed he was to come off injured.''
