Swansea transfer target Andy Burgess has had his transfer request accepted by Rushden and Diamonds. Burgess, who has been one of Kenny Jackett's number one transfer targets since Christmas, may now leave the League Two outfit, although a substantial fee will be required. Rushden turned down a £75k offer from the Swans in February, although it is thought a fee of £100k will be enough to seal the deal.
Club Secretary Dave Joyce told the official club website, "Andy came to us back in February and asked to be placed on the transfer list. We couldn't agree to the demand, but with all his efforts over the last few months we have reluctantly agreed to circulate his name to other clubs".
From the club's comments, it would appear that Burgess is keen on a move to South Wales, due to the fact that he put in his first transfer-request when Swansea originally announced their interest in February.
