Kenny Jackett has wasted no time in looking to add to his newly-promoted League One outfit and is set to hold talks with Cheltenham midfielder Martin Devaney over the course of the next week. Devaney is available on a free transfer from the Robins after rejecting a new deal and Jackett is looking to secure his services as soon as possible, possible along with several of last season's other transfer targets.
"I've spoken to John Ward and he's given me permission to talk to Martin Devaney", Jackett told the Evening Post. "I'll be meeting him inside the next week, while Holt, Burgess and Goodfellow are all good players who I will be considering, no doubt about it".
Devaney helped Cheltenham to promotion through the play-offs three seasons ago, yet has grown frustrated by the club's lack of progress after suffering immediate relegation the following summer. The midfielder, who is equally at home on the left and right flanks, turned down a move to Championship outfit Burnley in January and more recently, to Swansea's League Two rivals Yeovil on transfer deadline day.
