Swansea City will face former manager Roberto Martinez after they were drawn away to Wigan Athletic in the Carling Cup fourth round.Martinez quit Swansea last summer for the Latics after just over two years in in which he led them to the League One title.
Swansea reached the fourth round after beating League One side Peterborough United.
The match will be played in the week beginning 25 October.
Swansea handed former captain Martinez his first managerial job by the Welsh club as a 33-year-old in February 2007 following the departure of Kenny Jackett.
The Spaniard went on to put the Swans on the football map for introducing an attractive, passing brand of football, winning many plaudits.
In his first full season, Martinez guided them to the League One title and then narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs in their first season at second tier level for 24 years.
But Wigan, the club he first played for when arriving in the UK in 1995 as part of the "Three Amigos", came calling last summer and Martinez resigned.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said at the time, that the departure of Martinez and his coaching staff had "clearly ripped the heart out of" the club.
It also angered a number of fans as Martinez had previously gone on record saying he would only leave the club if he was forced out.
Just days before the tie, Swansea face Martinez's successor Paulo Sousa in the Championship after he quit this summer for Leicester City.
