The 60-year-old has only been in charge of the Swans for five games after replacing interim boss Alan Curtis with the south Wales outfit involved in the battle for Premier League survival.
Curtis will take charge once again while Guildolin recovers from a chest infection which has seen his admitted to hospital in London.
"Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin will miss tonight's Barclays Premier League fixture at Arsenal," the club announced on their website.

"The specialist felt that the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment.
"He is in a comfortable position and is expected to recover fully in a few days
Everyone at Swansea City wishes him a speedy recovery
Alan Curtis will carry out his duties during his recovery period."
