"If we can get an injection of one or two bits of real quality it can offer a springboard. We'll look to do that in the next six weeks or so."
Fourth-placed Swansea face four Championship games in a week, starting at QPR on Boxing Day.
Barnsley are in Swansea on 28 January before Reading come to the Liberty Stadium on New Year's Day, the Swans then travelling to Leicester on 3 January.
"They are four important games so it's business as usual for us over Christmas," Rodgers told BBC Sport Wales.
"If we were to pick up maximum points it would give us a massive boost.
"If we can just come out with a positive it could give us motivation going into the new year. It's certainly an important period."
