Swansea have confirmed that they will appeal against the red card that Lee Trundle received on Saturday in their 2-2 draw against Rochdale. Trundle was sent off in the first half for a two-footed lunge on a Dale defender, which could see him missing crucial games in the promotion run-in.
Trundle has been a key performer this season for Swansea and looks set to finish as top goalscorer for the second successive season with his 20 gosl to date. "I don't believe either red card was warranted and we will certainly appeal against Lee's dismissal", Jackett told the Evening Post.
Swansea's appeal was lent weight today by Sky Sports Pundit Chris Kamara, who studied video evidence at length. "I am not saying Trundle's red card should be rescinded, but the referee should definately have another look at it", Kamara told Goals On Sunday.
