Neil Taylor concedes Swansea City's under-performing players "owe their fans a performance" when they bid to revive their season against Barnsley. The Swans have stuttered to just one win in six Championship games and their 4-0 Boxing Day defeat at leaders Queens Park Rangers is the heaviest this term.
Taylor admits there is "extra pressure" on Tuesday's home clash with Barnsley.
Taylor said: "People will see this as a winnable game particularly at home. We know we have to win, we need to win."
Swansea's 4-0 festive thrashing extended a 90-year-old record over not beating QPR on their own patch - but Brendan Rodgers' play-off hopefuls remain fourth in the division.
The Swans have also won just one in four at the Liberty Stadium they once considered a fortress after five successive home wins at the start of this season.
There were grumbles of discontent after Rodgers' men were held to an unconvincing 1-1 draw with Millwall in their last home game - now Taylor wants his Swansea side to inspire the Liberty faithful.
"Most of all we know we need to put on a performance because there were a lot of travelling fans at QPR on Boxing Day," said the Welsh international left-back.
"And we feel we've let them down. So we must put on a performance back home against Barnsley.
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers unconcerned by his side's form
"People will see this game as a winnable particularly game at home.
"The expectation is there because of how we have done this season. There is pressure every game now if we want to be up in the top area of the table."
Swansea are unbeaten against Barnsley in eight games and the Yorkshire side have not won in Swansea since 1974.
But Mark Robins' men have won their two on the road and have suffered just two defeats in their last eight - so only Hull City are above them in the form guide.
Taylor, signed in the summer from Welsh rivals Wrexham, knows his Swansea side must improve following their QPR humbling in they are to find their early season form.
"We weren't good enough against QPR," Taylor acknowledged.
"We got caught on the counter attack too many times and our defending was not good enough. We have to dig deep to get on another good run.
"None of the boys are going to hide, we are always going to want the ball and keep our identity.
"We have the game on Tuesday which is good for us as we have to put that defeat at QPR to the back of our minds and make sure it doesn't happen again."
