"The Lines Are Pretty Dead In Both Directions"

Kenny Jackett has claimed that he will be "suprised" if any further transfers occur at the Vetch, prior to Thursday's 5pm deadline. Bradley Maylett left for Boston last Friday, but Jackett has told supporters to expect little activity in terms of both players arriving and leaving before the end of the week.

''At this stage I don't think there will be much activity", Jackett told the Evening Post. ''I would be surprised if anything happens particularly in terms of players coming in...I wouldn't say that I'm looking". ''I'm really looking to settle down with the group of players I've got between now and the end of the season".

Whilst Swansea's fellow promotion rivals continue to bolster their squads in something of a transfer frenzy, Jackett will be hoping that his side already have the required quality to fight their way back into promotion contention. Jackett clearly believes that no new faces are needed to beat Swansea's major recent slump in form, which must end this Friday if they are to earn automatic promotion.
