Swansea have confirmed that South African goalkeeper Garath Ormshaw has joined them on a trial basis. Ormshaw joins fellow trialists Willy Gueret and Simon Rayner in competing for a full time professional contract.
Once of Crystal Palace and Maidenhead, Ormshaw has been playing his recent football for Hellenic in the South African Castle Premiership. Ormshaw was part of the squad for numerous Palace games during their last spell in the Premiership between 1997 and 1999, but sadly never made an appearance.
Now the 25 year old is hoping to return to English football as Bryan Murphy's major competitor for a first team place. Jackett has stated that he will not waste players' time if they are not wanted, and this may mark the end for one of the other two hopeful trialists.
