James Thomas will undergo his second operation in two months tomorrow, after his knee injury continues to puzzle Swansea's medical team. The surgeon who originally operated on Thomas's knee in September claimed that it had been a "total success" and Kenny Jackett was hoping to see his injury-crocked striker back in action within a few weeks. However, after returning to training last week, Thomas continued to complain about yet more pain and must sit through ANOTHER operation tomorrow.
The Swansea medical staff have admitted that they are puzzled by this latest development and are unsure as to why Thomas' injury is yet to heal. Physio Richard Evans told the Evening Post "'We have done everything according to the guidelines laid down by the consultant for rehabilitation, but it just does not seem to be improving". ''We just can't seem to get to the bottom of it".
One-time Vetch hero but now forgotten-man Thomas has faced a horrendous 15 months in terms of injuries and will desperate to return to action soon. More importantly for the striker, is to win a new contract as his current deal ends in the summer.
