Impressive youngster Owain Tudor-Jones is set to sign a one-year deal with Swansea, just days after being offered a monthly contract by Kenny Jackett. Interest from League One rivals Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town meant that Jackett was forced to act swiftly if he wanted to keep the giant midfielder and the Welsh Under-21 now looks set for a future in professional football.
"It was after Owain's display in the game at Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday that I was convinced I wanted to sign him up for the year", Jackett told the Evening Post. ''Every week Owain has been with us he has improved and, at 20, I think he will keep on getting better now he's training full-time".
Scouts from both Tranmere and Swindon were present at Swansea's 0-0 draw with Forest Green on Tuesday night, with both clubs making immediate offers to the youngster. However, it appears that Tudor-Jones has favoured staying in South Wales and is set to sign his new deal at the beginning of next week.
