Swansea have announced that the capacity of the Vetch Field will be extended back to 13,000 for the remainder of the season. The club have been forced to reduce its capacity over the last 12 months due to safety restrictions but are now pleased to announce that soon the Vetch will see an increased number of places available.
Recent Swansea attendances have meant that numerous fans have missed out over the last month, with some games sold out 45 minutes before kick-off. However, Chairman Huw Jenkins stated that following talks with a local engineer, work can be done to increase the number of places in the North Bank.
Engineers will provide further support for the back of the terraced bank, allowing supporters to move further up the stand itself. This will create more room and provided that supporters listen to advice from safety stewards, will remain the case for the rest of the season.
