Swansea City have confirmed that the West Terrace will be closed to home fans for Friday's clash with League Two rivals Mansfield Town. The police have decided that no home fans will be allowed into the stand and only visiting Mansfield supporters will be granted entry - meaning a somewhat reduced gate for the fixture and only 9,500 places for Swansea fans.
Swansea's recent attendances have been slowly growing following a fantastic run of form that has seen them slowly climbing the table. Just under 7,500 fans turned up for Swansea's last league home fixture against Rushden, with well over 1,000 fans making the three hour journey to Chester last weekend.
The club are expecting a sell-out on Friday night, as a home win could see Swansea overtake leaders Yeovil Town at the top of League Two. They are warning non-season ticket holders that they should attempt to gain entry to the ground by 7pm, as the closure of the West Terrace is likely to swell other ends of the ground.
