His form in a Swans defence which kept a club-record 24 clean sheets this season has put him in the shop window.
"I'm contracted at Swansea and it's nice to be linked with teams but it's out of my hands," said Williams.
"I've just played my best for Swansea City this season and it's nice to be rewarded with links to the Premier League.
"Whatever happens, happens, it's not for me to comment."
Swansea missed out on the play-offs after being held 0-0 at home to Doncaster in Sunday's final game of the season.
There were a lot of games where maybe we should have buried teams
Ashley Williams
They surrendered a top six place on the penultimate weekend though, having spent four months there.
But a win would have seen them climb back up, knocking out Blackpool who had taken their place.
Former West Bromwich Albion trainee Williams has been one of Swansea's most consistent performers and is among a few key players who have been linked with a top-flight switch.
Out-of-contract midfielder Leon Britton is wanted by Wigan Athletic, while Fulham tried to sign defender Angel Rangel.
Injured midfielder Ferrie Bodde has also been a target of Wigan in the past, and Darren Pratley is attracting attention too.
Williams has made rapid progress since being signed by ex-Swans boss Roberto Martinez initially on loan in March 2008.
He was captain of Stockport County at the time, but went on to make his move to the Liberty Stadium permanent at the start of last season for a then club record fee of £400,000.
Williams has since gone on to make 97 appearances for the Swans over the last two seasons on top of winning 11 caps for Wales.
He also finished this campaign as second joint-top goal scorer with five goals, along with strikers Shefki Kuqi and Lee Trundle, while midfielder Darren Pratley topped the list with seven. Swansea only managed to score 40 goals in 46 league games.
This is the best our club has been in many years and I am thankful for that and enjoying the ride

"I'm happy personally with my season," added Williams.
"I set a few targets at the start of the season and I made them, but it doesn't mean anything at the minute. I'm just disappointed for the team.
"We came up short in the end. There were a lot of games where maybe we should have buried teams.
"As a team we've got record clean sheets and we've got that as a team and not a back four and maybe that takes a little bit away from the goals.
"That's definitely been a bit of a problem for us, everyone knows that.
"We haven't made the play-offs, that's that, and we'll all have to go away and have a good break.
"When we come back and I'm sure we'll be more determined next season to put it right."
