"It's a worrying time", a spokesman for the Wrexham Supporters Trust told BBC Wales," I'm convinced there's a future for the club if we can get it off Hamilton". Supporters are also worried that the latest news regarding the winding up order may suddenly alarm other creditors - creating a snowball effect.
Perhaps Wrexham's only saving grace could be the town's council, who announced plans to try and buy the ground on Tuesday. However, for the buy-out to go ahead, it would need to attract further partners to it's cause. The club are currently in negotiations with the Welsh Assembly to determine whether they could offer any grant-aid to help buy the ground.
It would be a shame to lose a fellow football club in such a manner - not to mention the pressure that Wales' other sides would be placed under in any future football league reforms with only Swansea and Cardiff as their representatives.
Wrexham Supporters Trust are asking for as many people as possible to aid their cause by sending an email, with details as follows:
I back calls for the Welsh Assembly to help Wrexham Council buy the Reds Racecourse ground - securing it as a sporting venue for future generations.
