Macclesfield boss David Moss read the riot act after watching his side surrender against fellow relegation candidates Swansea City, claiming: "We were out thought, out played, out passed, out battled and out jumped for ninety minutes.
"It was a spineless, passionless display totally lacking care and commitment." Swansea manager Brian Flynn though was keeping a lid on his emotions even though his side have taken ten points from their last ten games and moved off the foot of the football league for the first time since Boxing Day.
He said: "Its just another win, an important win at that, but none the less only three points.
"We played well in the first half and should have gone in ahead but we continued to play the same brand of football and eventually got our just deserts." The Swans should have been two goals up in the first 15 minutes, James Thomas and Lenny Johnrose both spurning simple chances.
But they were handed the lead in the 40th minute when Town keeper Steve Wilson flapped at a Kieron Durkan cross allowing Steve Watkin to float home a simple header.
The home side were back on level terms on the stroke of half time with Swansea centre back Kristian O'Leary only able to hoof a vicious low Chris Priest cross in to his own net.
Swansea took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half, skipper Jason Smith nailing a far post header in the 51st minute before Roberto Martinez scored his first goal for his new club with a stunning 25- yard drive.
