Swans fall short yet again

A terrible evening for Welsh football was capped off with an embarassing performance by the under fire Swans who saw their powerful striker Adebayo Akinfenwa carted off and into an ambulance.

Things got off to an awful start start as a Willy Gueret parry from a Kevan Hurst shot found the powerful Billy Sharp who sent the ball past the dispairing 'keeper and into the net.
The Swans did get back into it with a couple of shots but Scunthorpe's keeper was rarely tested. The best chance came to Andy Robinson, an excellent free kick which was heading for the corner of the net but he saw it tipped over the bar by Murphy.
Before the half time whistle, Akinfenwa got into a bad challenge which saw him come out the worst and he was stretchered off to an awaiting ambulance. We are currently unsure of his situation.

The Second half began with Swansea starting positively but not really testing Murphy who was a thorn in the fans side all night as he took long periods of time on the ball.
The best chance of the half came to Hinds who had a 35 yard screamer parried by Gueret to Jermain Beckford who had the easy task to head home. Many Fans left the Liberty Stadium by now, the spirit was dead, the players were out of synchronisation and looked void of ideas.

Hopefully an improvement will be made by the away trip to Yeovil (4th place) on saturday.
