Yeovil Town fought back from three successive defeats with an all-action display to topple Brian Flynn's league leaders. There were no complaints from the Swans boss after the game.
"On the day we were beaten by a much better team," he said.
Yeovil had been sliding down the table after starting life with the big boys with two excellent wins. This was a badly needed victory and they certainly pulled out all the stops to get it.
The inclusion of Ronnie Bull at left back - he was signed on a month's loan from Millwall earlier in the week- made the back line much more solid and they needed to be as the Swans, with the league's top scorer Lee Trundle a constant box of tricks, probed for openings.
However, it was Yeovil who grabbed the opening goal. After weathering an early storm, Bull shrugged off the challenges of four defenders in the 38th minute to blaze in a shot which Roger Freestone saved superbly. But, within a minute, Freestone was picking the ball out of the net after manager's son Lee Johnson provided the cross which Adam Stansfield headed in.
"It brought a lump to my throat," said Glovers boss Gary Johnson.
It was Stansfield's first start since badly breaking a leg in the opening game of last season and he got his chance because Kevin Gall was on duty for the Welsh Under-21 team.
"He has worked tremendously hard and it was a real thrill to see him get his goal," said Johnson.
Stansfield should have made it 2-0 in the first minute of the second half when he raced clear but he fired his shot against Freestone's legs.
The second goal soon arrived however, Stansfield providing the opening and Kirk Jackson getting past his marker to beat Freestone to the ball.
In the closing minutes Gavin Williams should have made it three but after doing all the hard work in a dazzling run, he hit a post.
